To provide a rice cooker capable of softly cooking boiled-rice by increasing the amount of a -amino-butyric acid in rice or the like.
In the rice cooker, an acid mist is generated by an acid-mist generating means 18 using acid water generated by an acid-water generating means 15. The acid mist is sprayed onto the rice from an acid mist introducing means 20. Because the acid water in the mist is sprayed on the rice, the acid water is easy to penetrate even inside the rice, allowing enzymes to be activated and the soft boiled-rice to be provided. Easy activation of the enzymes allows the -amino butyric acid to efficiently increase in a short time. Because the rice is not soaked in water at the time, the generated -amino butyric acid is not eluted and can be wholly left inside the rice.
