To provide a transparent rice package body article excellent in an oxygen barrier property and a damp-proofing property, causing no deterioration in color of rice and no change in taste of the rice, keeping flavor peculiar to the rice, and also maintaining the effect of keeping the taste and the flavor for a long period of time even when a package body is formed in an aerated package configuration or bent.
The rice package article is such that the rice is housed in the package body formed through using a polymeric film (a first polymeric film) provided with a barrier layer on its surface, and a composite film (transparent packaging material) having at least a seal layer for sealing the polymeric film. The rice package body article has the oxygen permeability of the composite film of 3 cm3/m2×day×atm or less (at a temperature of 20°C, and a relative humidity of 70%), and water vapor permeability of 6 g/m2×day or less (at 40°C).
