PURPOSE: To reduce the extent of overhang of a seedling planter in the lateral direction of a machine body and minimize the front and rear length as the whole rice transplanter at the time of no operation and improve the maneuverability of the rice transplanter in travel without performing the operation in spite of the installed seedling planter for planting in many rows good in operating efficiency.

CONSTITUTION: This rice transplanter is obtained by constituting a seedling planter 4 for planting in many rows connected to a mobile machine body so as to freely drive, lift and lower so as to enable the free bisection in unit of number of planting rows, constituting the seedling planter so as to enable the free postural changeover from an operating posture without performing the bisection to a housed posture for bisecting the seedling planter and reducing the extent of overhang in the lateral direction of the machine body and installing a freely detachable auxiliary ground contact wheel 17 relatively to the seedling planter 4 in the housed posture.
