PURPOSE: To produce the ring for the spinning machine with abrasion resistance and low strain by a method wherein the ring for the spinning machine is produced from an alloyed steel containing an alloy element forming a stable nitride and mild nitriding or nitriding treatment is applied to said ring.
CONSTITUTION: The ring for the spinning machine is produced from said alloy steel containing at least one or more of 0.2W2.0% of Al, 0.2W26.0% of Cr and 0.4W3.0% of Ti. The resulting ring is subjected to mild nitriding or nitriding treatment to form a composite nitride layer comprising a nitride of Fe and a stable nitride of Al, Cr or Ti on a surface thereof and, thereby, abrasion resistance of said ring is enhanced. Because a nitriding treatment temp. is lower than a conventional carburization tempering treatment temp., the strain generated by heat treatment is extremely low.
