To obtain a rise-and-fall display in which a bimetal can be attached to the surface of a steam pipe easily and quickly and in which the bimetal is hard to deform and remove.

A leaf-spring clip 2 comprising three sides which come into contact with the surface of a steam pipe 1 is provided. A bimetal 3 one end side of which is fixed and bonded to the inner face of the leaf-spring clip 2 is provided. A cap 6 which is connected to the leaf-spring clip 2 in order to cover the other end side of the bimetal 3 is provided. A window 7 which is opened in the cap 2 so that the tip of the other end side of the bimetal 3 comes in and out is provided. The bimetal 3 is operated in such a way that it is curved according to a temperature change up to a prescribed temperature and that it is not curved from the prescribed temperature. The leaf-spring clip 2 is fitted to the surface of the steam pipe 1, and one end side of the bimetal 3 is brought into pressure contact with the surface of the steam pipe 1 so as to be attached. The bimetal 3 is attached easily and quickly to the surface of the steam pipe 2 on the basis of the spring function of the leaf-spring clip 2. In addition, since the other end side of the bimetal 3 is covered with the cap 6 connected to the leaf-spring clip 2 by excluding its tip, the bimetal 3 is hard to deform and remove.
