The optical fiber cable 10 suitable for indoor use includes a core tube 12 which surrounds coated optical fibers 11, a jacket 16 made of a fire retardant polymer material surrounding the core tube 12, and at least one strength member 13 or 14 arranged between the core tube 12 and jacket 16. The jacket 16 has an external diameter of approximately ≤7 mm and the coated optical fiber 11 has a short-time increase in signal attenuation of approximately ≤0.01 dB when the cable 10 is looped to a radius of 5 cm.
