To provide a river water intake device sufficiently securing intake function with a simple structure, causing less sediment deposition, facilitating removing work even if sediment deposit, and gentle to the environment, and to provide an intake method using the intake device.
This river water intake device has an external cylinder part of a thin cylindrical body, a transformation control part having a fixation control part fixed to the middle lower inside in the longitudinal direction of the external cylinder part and a pair of swingable movable blades, a water balloon part formed in a sealed body with a base part made of a flexible impermeable sheet material, a movable part, a stretch part, a fold part and an edge part, a water intake pipe each arranged on the lower side of the external cylinder part top, and a watering pipe and a drainage pipe arranged in the water balloon part. The intake device is such that (i) the base part is fixed to the inner peripheral surface of the fixation control part and the movable part is fixed to the lower side of the movable blades in the middle part of the water balloon part, and the stretch part is extended across the movable part, and (ii) both the ends of the water balloon part are formed with the fold part of a shape made by extending the base part, the movable part and the stretch part when being filled with water, and a end face part closing the fold part.
