To provide a rivet wherein the fitting root part of a needle-like leg body is reinforced so as not to excessively bend and moreover the needle-like leg body is surely fixed and held so as not to easily slip out of the body.

A needle-like body 2 with a stepped projecting part 7 wherein the diameter of a base end part 5 is stepwise increased and a base body 3 having the inserting groove hole 6 with a stepped recessed part 8 whose diameter is stepwise decreased so as to lock the large diameter part of the needle-like leg body 2 are respectively formed. In this case, the step angle at the stepped projecting part 7 is made larger (90°C) than the step angle at the stepped recessed part 8. Next, the leg part 4 of the needle-like leg body 2 is inserted from the large diameter side of the inserting groove hole 6 in the base body 3, the stepped recessed part 8 is pushed outside with the stepped projecting part 7 to form a buildup reinforced part 10 in the outlet side edge part at the inserting groove hole 6, whereby the rivet 1 is formed where the needle-like leg body 2 and the base body 3 are joined.
