To provide a road image management system capable of increasing the number of update frequencies of an update job of road image information at a low cost and automatically carrying out the update job without needing many man-hours for the update job.
A storage device 2 is connected to a server 1, to which a client 3 is connected via a communication line, required information is properly called and displayed on a monitor, printed as required and data are outputted to a mobile information terminal. A digital video camera is fixed to a vehicle via a vibration proof device, and photographs a front side and side faces of roads while vehicle is run on the roads. Positional information received by a GPS receiver is written to the storage device together with an image attendant on start of the photographing. A vehicle-velocity sensor and an acceleration sensor are equipped to be able to correct the positional information obtained from the GPS. In the case of adding a system for automatically detecting variations or the like of a relative position of civil engineering structures or the like, the image is recorded as a three-dimensional image by a stereo camera.
