Abstract:

To provide a road paving machine that can improve a fuel consumption rate in consideration of a load factor of an engine, and a control device therefor.

This invention is a control device 10 for an asphalt finisher 1 with at least one actuator. The control device 10 includes load factor acquiring means (S102) for acquiring a load factor of power source of the actuator, engine control means (S104 and S106) for controlling the rotational frequency of an engine, and actuator control means (S204 and S206) for controlling the rotational frequency of the actuator. The control device 10 controls the engine and/or actuator so that the load factor falls within a predetermined range. The control device 10 increases, if the load factor is equal to or more than a first threshold, the rotational frequency of the engine (S104), and decreases, if the load factor is equal to or less than a second threshold, the rotational frequency of the engine (S106).
