Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the continuation of processing using a road parameter by suppressing the reduction in precision of the road parameter in the false detection of a road white line.
SOLUTION: Two or more windows Ww for detecting right and left road white lines in an image taken by a camera 1 are set to the taken image (steps S1 and S2), white line candidate points L are detected every window Ww (step S3), and the road parameter S is estimated on the basis of them (step S4). On the basis of the white line candidate points L detected in step S3 corresponding to the lateral road white lines, it is determined whether the lateral detected white lines are actual lines or broken lines (step S6). When one is a solid line and the other is a broken line, the reliability of the broken line-side detected white line is evaluated (step S7), and when the reliability of the broken line-side detected white line is low, the road parameter S is re-estimated on the basis of only the solid line-side detected white line (step S9).
