Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To imitate the behavior of an organism by means of a simple mechanism and to smoothly move the robot equipment even if some obstructions are present on a floor.
SOLUTION: This robot equipment contains a body part 4, a head part 6 placed on the body part 4, and a driving means for the head part 6. The head part 6 is oscillatable in back and forth relative to the body part 4 and is installed in a horizontally oscillatable state with a generally vertically extended virtual rotation axis 8 centered. The driving means for head part 6 drives the head part 6 to oscillate the head part 6 in back and forth and to horizontally oscillate the head part 6 with the virtual rotation axis 8 centered. The virtual rotation axis 8 is forwardly tilted. The robot equipment is also provided with first wheels 22 disposed on the body part 4 at its front lower part and for supporting the body part 4 and casters 24 disposed on the body part 4 at its back lower part and for supporting the body part 4 together with the first wheels 22. The first wheels 22 are forwardly projected at their front ends 26 from the body part 4 at its front end 28.
