To arbitrarily adjust the range of spray in accordance with the scale of a fire source by providing a robot with a steplessly variable spray nozzle having a constitution wherein flow-straightening plates are extended in the axial line direction on a rotational shaft being concentrically arranged in a nozzle main body.
A fire robot is provided with a spray device 50 driven by a battery. This spray device 50 has a nozzle main body 51 connected with a pipe P and with a spray hole 52 and a steplessly variable spray nozzle 13A constituted with a rotational shaft 58 and flow-straightening plates 57. The rotational shaft 58 is arranged in the same shaft center C in the nozzle main body 51 and is rotated by a driving source 60. E.g., four sheets of flow-straightening plates 57 consisting of rectangular sheet bodies are extended in the direction C on the rotational shaft 58. A control device 17A of a robot for fire judges the position of fire by the angle of rotation and the angle of elevation of a television camera as a fire source measuring sensor and controls the direction of the steplessly variable spray nozzle 13A. At the same time, the speed of rotation of a motor 60 is controlled and the speed of rotation of the flow- straightening plates 57 is set at a specified value and the range of spray is controlled.
