To provide a robot for edging a blade equipped with a robot hand for supporting a kitchen knife so that the blade can be readily edged.

The robot (1) for edging a blade comprises a robot main body (2), a control device (3) and a grinding device (6). The robot hand (4) installed on a front arm of the robot body comprises a blade body holder having left and right clamps in which a blade body storing space for tightly storing the most part of a blade body of the kitchen knife (7) to which the blade is edged, and a clamp driver for supporting both the clamps while allowing the left and right clamps move between a first position to be away from each other and a second position to be close or in contact with each other.
