Abstract:

To secure the extensible and contractive movement of a robot, in a manner where an increase in driving power of an electric motor is suppressed.

A robot 100 configured to be extensible and contractive according to inter-displacement between frames, includes: frames 14, 13, 15 to be disposed from a base end side to a tip end side of the robot 100 in turn; a driving device for driving the frame 13 on the tip end side based on the driving force supplied from an electric motor 1; an urging device for urging the frame 13 on the tip end side by cooperating with the driving device; and a conveyance mechanism for conveying the frame 14 and the frame 15 in opposite directions to each other in viewing from the frame 13 in synchronization with the conveyance of the frame 13 on the tip end side performed by the driving device and the urging device. The urging device is, for instance, constituted of a gas spring.
