To provide a chair suitable for performing a keyboard operation and a mouse operation.
A seat 3 and an outer shell 14 which supports the seat 3 are constituted of first portions 3a and 14a and second portions 3b and 14b partitioned forward and backward. A first portion 14a of the outer shell 14 is attached to a first middle fitting 11, and a second portion 14b of the outer shell 14 is attached to a second middle fitting 12. Only forward and backward sliding is allowed for the first middle fitting 11, and the second middle fitting 12 is connected to the first middle fitting 11 to be inclined backward. A backrest 4 is attached to a back column 5 fixed to the second middle fitting 12, and movement of the back column 5 is guided by a back support 6. The backrest 4 goes down while being inclined backward centering around an approximate middle part in its vertical direction, and the seat 3 goes ahead on the whole while a second portion inclines backward. Since an upper body of a person hardly moves backward even the chair is rocked, a keyboard operation is performed in a rocking state.
