To enable a begginer to have a permanent wave by the use of a rod around which hair thereof is wound by providing an engaging protrusion part on which flat-shaped engaging/locking wing/like members are arranged radially in the longitudinal direction at the circumferential face part of its end, and engaging the members with or mounting them demountably on a coupling end connected to the rotation shaft of a motor in a grip part.
A rod 1 is provided with an engaging protruding part 2 and an engaging/locking wing-like piece 3. The part 2 projects outward in the longitudingal direction from the center of end of the rod 1. One or more pieces 3 are erected radially in the circumferential part. A fitted part 15 at an end of a coupling 14 connected to a rotation shaft 13 of a motor 12 built in a grip part 11 is fitted/engaged detachably, and the drive force of the motor 12 is transmitted or not transmitted to the body of the rod 1. As a result, sure and easy rod wind operation is made possible, and with a uniform tension applied, an excellent finishing is obtained.
