Abstract:

To improve strength and corrosion resistance by disposing a joining material consisting of specified α-aluminum oxide powder, inorg. oxide powder as a sintering aid and an org. vehicle between two members and heating them.

A pasty, sheet- or slip-shaped joining material is obtd. by mixing 50-70wt.% in total, or aggregate-free α-aluminum oxide powder having a high degree of calcination, ≥92wt.% purity, ≤100nm particle diameter and high dispersibility and inorg. oxide powder having the almost same particle diameter as the aluminum oxide powder as a sintering aid with an org. vehicle dispersed or dissolved as uniformly as possible in an org. or aq. solvent. The joining material is disposed between two members and they are heated to ≤1,300°C and cooled to obtain the objective high strength corrosion resistant bond having ≥95wt.% aluminum oxide content and ≤5wt.% sintering aid content and keeping a vacuum for a long time.
