Abstract:
PURPOSE:To measure a roll profile with high accuracy by correcting measured values of partial roll profiles including a motion error by arithmetic processing based upon the measurement result of the motion error and thus finding the real partial roll profile, and then processing them and finding the total roll profile. CONSTITUTION:A displacement detector fitting base 4 is moved in the axial direction of a work roll 2 to measure the axial diameter size variation of the work roll 2 partially by displacement detectors 103a, 103b, 103d, 103f, and 103g for profile measurement and displacement detectors 103c, 103d, and 103e for motion error measurement. Then the motion error of the fitting base 4 is found by processing the measured value obtained by the displacement detector 103c and this error value is used to correct the measured value of the displacement detector 103a. Then corrected measured values are summed up to find the axial diameter size variation of the work roll 2.
