PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply a lubricant into the clearance between a roll and an inner race by simple mechanism and without lowering the rated load of a bearing.
SOLUTION: This roll bearing device is composed so that the roll 10 is supported with a sealed type ball-and-roller bearing on both end parts of which seals 28 are provided, the fitting between the outside surface 13 of bearing in a roll neck part and the bearing bore 23 of an inner race of the bearing is taken as clearance fit and the lubricant is supplied into the clearance between the roll and the inner race through a lubricant supplying hole (a) provided on a bearing box 30 fit to the outer race 24 of the bearing 24. In such a case, a lubricant supplying groove (c) which is communicated with the lubricant supplying hole (a) is formed on the end face on the opposite side to the bearing of a seal cover 26 for holding the seal 28, and the lubricant supplying groove (d) in the radial direction is formed on the end face of the inner race 24 of the bearing and the lubricant from the lubricant supplying hole (a) is supplied between the outside surface 13 of bearing in the neck part of the roll 10 and the bearing bore 23 of the inner race of the bearing through the lubricant supplying grooves (c), (d).
