PURPOSE: To obtain a bearing which has a long life and is easy to exchange by providing center metals inserted with angular spherical bearings in parallel combination between a shaft and a bearing box at both ends of a roll, grasping the same in cushion metal rests of bearing stands and supporting the thrust thereof.
CONSTITUTION: Angular spherical bearings 21 in parallel combination are fitted between a shaft 20 and a bearing box 24, and the axial movement thereof is restrained with each other by means of locating snap rings 22, 26 and further the bearing part is sealed 28 to constitute a center metal 19. The center metal is fitted attachably and detachably in the shaft hole 18 of a work roll 1. Center metal rests 31 via elastic materials 29 are further provided to the right and left bearing stands 4 provided in the frame of a tension leveler. The roll 1 is grasped by suitable pressing force with the rests 31 via the metals 19 so that the axial thrust thereof is supported. The damage of the bearings is thus prevented and the exchange of parts is made easy, whereby productivity is improved.
