Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow roll based on a plate-wound method and excellent in a cost aspect in a form without having uneven hardening penetration caused by a weld zone.
SOLUTION: A portion where a proeutectoid ferrite band 4aa is caused along the weld line of a roll body 1 is shaved into a groove. The roll body 1 in which the proeutectoid ferrite band 4aa causing the uneven hardening penetration does not exist in a hardening layer is obtained by refilling the groove G by low heat input welding based on a plasma welding method.
