Abstract:
PURPOSE: To precisely align the roll center and the housing center.
CONSTITUTION: In the roll center positioning method of a shape rolling mill in which by sliding an arbor roll 2 connected to an arbor and a sleeve roll 3 fitted in the arbor each other in the axial direction, when the roll center and housing center is aligned while eliminating a mechanical backlash in the initial setting roll width, an absolute position in the axial direction of the arbor roll 2 and the sleeve roll 3 is stored in a roll center position controller 14. In changing the roll width, based on the initial setting roll width and absolute position in the axial direction of the arbor roll 2 and sleeve roll 3, the roll center after change is aligned to the housing center. By this method, dimensional defect of uneven thickness, etc., is not generated.
