Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll clamping device informing an operator whether a roll paper clamping position is appropriate or not.
SOLUTION: In a clamping device provided with a pair of long and short clamp arms 5, 6, a contact detecting switch 11 is arranged in a clamp pad 8 in the short-length side clamp arm 5, while a distance sensor 13 is arranged on the front face of a clamp holder 4. In front of the distance sensor 13, a plate 15, which is provided with a reflection mirror 14 and pressed backward by rolled paper W when it is clamped, is arranged. When the clamp pad 8 of the short-length side clamp arm 5 is brought into contact with the rolled paper W to be clamped, a distance from the front face of the clamp holder 4 to the rolled paper W is measured so as to be indicated on a display. Then, it is determined whether the clamping position is appropriate or not by comparing the distance measurement value with a reference value decided according to the diameter of the clamped rolled paper W.
