PURPOSE: To obtain a cost effective casting roll which allows the easy exchange of easily wearable parts and is cost effective by providing the roll with a core and sleeve which are arranged coaxially with each other and axial connecting means and rotational connecting means.

CONSTITUTION: The roll has the connecting means for connecting the core 2 and the sleeve 3 and a means for supporting and radially centering the sleeve 3 on the core 2. The axial connecting means has a means 4 for bringing the sleeve 3 in axial abutment against the core 2 in the position of a nearly intermediate surface P in the axial direction of the roll. The centering means 34, 51, 35 and 61 of a conical shape have two flanges 5 and 6 sliding on the core 2 and the elastic means 71, 73 and 74 for pulling these flanges 5 and 6 from each other. The respective flanges have truncated-cone shape portions 51 and 61. These truncated-cone shape portions 51 and 61 face bores 34 and 35 of a corresponding truncated-cone type formed at the corresponding ends of the sleeve 3. As a result, even if the roll is at low temperature or at high temperature during casting, the sleeve may be continuously, evenly and surely supported.
