Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a covered roll which is durable and is excellent in physical properties and in paper transport by covering a roll core with a liq. silicone rubber compsn. contg. two types of organopolysiloxanes, an inorg. filler, a platinum-based catalyst and a cure inhibitor and curing the compsn.
SOLUTION: A compsn. comprising 100 pts.wt. organopolysiloxane (A) having at least two alkenyl groups in the molecule, an organopolysiloxane of the formula (wherein R is a monovalent hydrocarbon group; m+n is 40-200: and n is 2-30) having 2-30 silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms in such an amt. that the molar ratio of hydrogen atom to alkenyl group of ingredient A is 0.5-5, a catalyst comprising a complex of chloroplatinic acid and an alkenyl compd. in a concn. (in terms of platinum) of 1-100 ppm based on ingredient A and 0.01-1 pt.wt. acetylene alcohol-based cure inhibitor is cured to form a silicone rubber layer having a JIS A hardness of 0-30, a change in hardness (after heat aging test at 230°C) of 45 and a compression set (after a compression of 25%, at 180°C for 22 hr) of 10% or lower on a roll core.
