To efficiently crush the objective material to be crushed even when the objective material containing mud is crushed, by disposing a nozzle near the crushing roll so that a liquid is ejected through the nozzle to remove mud depositing on the outer periphery of the crushing roll.
A pipe 15 to supply compressed air is disposed along the inner wall of the side frame 14, and the pipe 15 is provided with a nozzle 16 to eject compressed air 18 to the outer periphery of a crushing roll 6. By ejecting compressed air 18 from the nozzle 16 to the outer periphery of the lower part of the crushing roll 6 in the direction opposite to the rotating direction R of the crushing roll 6, mud 19 depositing on the outer periphery of the crushing roll 6 is removed. An operator observes the depositing state of mud 19 on the crushing roll 6, and when the operator judges that the mud 19 must be removed, the operator may drive the compressor or open a valve 20 as required to eject the compressed air. Thereby, the objective material to be crushed can be nipped between crushing rolls 6, 6.
