Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll driving device for four-roll mills with which driving force is transmittable to each roll of the four-roll mill especially each roll of an X-array four-roll mill by a simple mechanism.
SOLUTION: A housing for driving devices arranged between two four-roll mills is provided with an input shaft whose axis is made horizontal, two output shafts 6 connected to the input shaft through gears and a pair of driving force distributing mechanisms 10 which are connected to each output shaft 6 and with which the driving force is transmitted to each roll of the four-roll mills. Each driving force transmitting mechanism 10 is provided with four roll shafts, four distributing shafts connected to opposed roll shafts which are respectively arranged in parallel through transmission gears and bevel gears for connecting between adjacent distributing shafts and one distributing shaft of the four distributing shafts is connected to the output shaft 6 through the bevel gear.
