To exchange a roll without providing any roll exchanging rail inside a processing vessel in a metal strip processing apparatus.
In a roll exchanging device of a metal strip processing apparatus, a pair of upper and lower rolls 4, 5 are provided inside a processing vessel 1a; chocks 6, 7 for pivotably supporting the rolls 4, 5 are provided outside the processing vessel 1a; the chocks 6, 7 are supported by elevating/lowering means 9, 12 in an elevating/lowering manner, inclined rails with their upper faces having an inclined surface on lower parts of the elevating/lowering means 9, 12, wheels for suspension and movement to be mounted on the inclined rails are provided on the upper sides of the chocks 6, 7; wheels 11, 14 are provided on the lower sides of the chocks 6, 7; and a roll exchanging truck 3 on which telescopic rails 20, 21 to be inserted to the lower side of the wheels 11, 14 for movement of the chocks 6, 7 from the outer side of the processing vessel 1a are mounted in an elevating/lowering manner by the elevating/lowering means 9, 12 when exchanging the rolls 4, 5, is arranged adjacent to a metal strip processing apparatus 1.
