To allow a die to appropriately abut on a working place with a flange in a workpiece, which is conveyed by a conveying means, and by a simple means, and to simply perform the movement of a hemming roller.
The roll hemming apparatus 10 has: an orthogonal robot 22 for moving a wheel arch part 16 with a flange 17 in a vehicle 12, which is conveyed with a truck 20 on a production line 14, to a reference position P; a die moving mechanism 25 by which a moving die 24 is moved from a standby position W to the reference position P and a moving die 24 is allowed to abut on the surface on the surface of the side opposite to the flange 17; and a hemming roller 30 which holds and bends the flange 17 together with the moving die 24 while being rolled with a working robot 24. The die moving mechanism 25 is provided on the orthogonal robot 22 and moves the moving die 24 forwards and backwards linearly to attain a recipraight operation between the standby position and the reference position P.
