Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to change the hemming timing and positions of a pre-hemming roller and a hemming roller and to make quality adjustment in response to an outer surface quality failure at a time of hemming using the pre-hemming roller and the hemming roller individually supported by a hemming head.SOLUTION: A hemming flange portion as well as a hemming die 6 is put between a pre-hemming roller 18 and a pair of backup roller 20 and the rollers 18 and 20 are rolled to preliminarily hem the hemming flange portion. Next, the pre-hemmed hemming flange portion as well as the hemming die 6 is put between a hemming roller 23 and the paired backup rollers 20 and the rollers 23 and 20 are rolled to hem the hemming flange portion. In a case of hemming, the pre-hemming roller 18 for use in pre-hemming is offset from the hemming roller 23 rearward in a hemming progress direction by an offset amount Of.
