Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll outer layer material having high abrasion resistance and a rolling compound roll including the same.SOLUTION: A roll outer layer material has an inclined composition with a W content reducing in a radial direction from an outer peripheral side of a roll toward an inner peripheral side thereof. An outer layer material surface at a position corresponding to a maximum diameter when used being rolled has a composition containing W:25-70%, Co:5-45%, C:0.6-3.5%, Si:0.05-3%, Mn:0.05-3% and Mo:1-15% in mass%, and an inevitable impurity as a remaining part. A carbide area ratio of the outer layer material surface is 45-90%. A rolling compound roll also preferably contains one or more selected from Fe:5-40%, Cr:0.1-10%, V:0.1-6% and Nb:0.1-3% in mass%, and more preferably satisfies expression [1]: 0.6≤%Fe/%Co≤1.5 [1], where %Fe and %Co are respectively the content (mass%) of Fe and Co.SELECTED DRAWING: None
