To provide a roll paper holder for continuously executing pull-out to cutting of paper with one hand and surely cutting the paper by firmly stopping the rotation of a paper roll at the time of cutting the paper.

In the roll paper holder 1, a roll holding part 3 for freely turnably holding the winding core 28 of the paper roll 27 around which the paper P1 is wound is connected to a back plate 2 for fixation fixed to a wall surface or the like, the rear end parts 8 of a cover plate 4 mounted on the paper roll 27 are freely vertically swingably pivoted at the upper part of the back plate 2 for the fixation, and a horizontally long opening 14 for passing the paper P unwound from the paper roll 27 therethrough is formed at the rear part of a projection part 15 for contact of the cover plate 4. Since the roll holding part 3 is freely vertically swingably pivoted at the upper part of the back plate 2 for the fixation, the paper roll 27 is brought into contact with the projection part 15 for the contact on the lower surface of the cover plate 4 and the front surface of the back plate 2 for the fixation.
