PURPOSE: To make a mechanism small in size and reduce the cost by arranging an opening of a cylindrical housing receptacle facing neighborhood of a paper outlet of a printer and taking up a roll paper in the housing receptacle by paper delivering force of the printer and the winding ways of the roll paper to be delivered.

CONSTITUTION: A roll paper take-up mechanism is constituted of a cylindrical roll paper take-up case 1 and a roll paper take-up cover 2, and an opening is provided on the roll paper take-up case 1. The opening is arranged adjacently to and facing a paper outlet of a printer 4. Here, when a roll paper 3 is delivered from the paper outlet of the printer 4, the roll paper 3 enters into the roll paper take-up case 1 being curled by its winding ways. At this time, since the cylindrical roll paper take-up case 1 is arranged in a way to follow the winding ways of the roll paper 3, the roll paper 3 is housed in the roll paper take-up case 1 sequentially by the paper delivering force of the printer 4 thereafter, so that the take-up mechanism will be compact.
