PURPOSE: To provide a roll stand and its adjusting method capable of not only adjusting an upper roll and lower roll of a horizontal roll in parallel but also adjusting them horizontally.

CONSTITUTION: Abutting surfaces 6, 8 are provided in an upper roll and a roll stand respectively. When abutting surfaces are abutted on each other, they are provided so that the center 13 of a fixture 3 of the upper roll becomes horizontal. The abutting surface 8 of the upper roll 2a is abutted on the abutting surface 6 of the roll stand to make the upper roll horizontal, a position of the lower roll is adjusted using the abutting surface 6 of the roll stand as a reference, and whereby both rolls are set in parallel.
