Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll surface trimming device having the long-time function of preventing the deposition of or removing foreign matters on or from a roll to be used in circumstances where it is exposed to such a long-time high temperature as in a continuous annealing furnace during manufacturing a steel plate.
SOLUTION: The roll surface trimming device comprises a rotatable supporting shaft 1 provided opposite to the roll 11 whose surface is trimmed, foreign matter scraping means formed of an elastically deformable thin member and provided in the longitudinal direction of the supporting shaft 1, and driving means for driving the rotation of the supporting shaft 1. The thin member has a portion in pressure face contact with the roll surface with the elastic deformation due to the contact with the roll 11 and is formed of a thin plate material 3 or a thin cylindrical body 4. This device is suitable for the surface trimming of a band carrying roll provided in a heat treatment furnace.
