PURPOSE: To provide a titled device for effectively removing attached matters such as metallic pieces attached to the surface of a work roll, by pressing a brush roll, arranged parallelly to the axial direction of the work roll and implanted spirally with a brush part, against the surface of the rotating work roll, and rotating the brush roll.

CONSTITUTION: When a brush roll device 4 is pressed against a rubber roll 2, a brush part 50 is rotated with a rotation of the roll 2 while being pressed against the roll 2 surface in a state of being slightly bent. When the part 50 stretches, said matters attached to the roll 2 surface are sprung out, and the part 50 exerts sweeping-out action so as to move the matters in the axial direction of the roll 2 while being in contact with the roll 2, and removes the matters effectively. Further the direction of springing out and sweeping out of the matters are directed to both sides by the rotation of a brush roll 40 having two kinds of spiral brush parts 50 formed towards both sides from the center. Further, attached matters stayed in a cover 52 of the roll 2 are effectively gathered to both the sides by the action of the roll 40 and are removed automatically.
