To economically provide a rolled type filter member with good shape retention property and a method for efficiently manufacturing such a rolled type filter member at a low cost.

The rolled type filter member 1 is formed by rolling at least one wire 10 in cylindrical and mesh-like form and provided with a plurality of overlapped parts formed by overlapping neighboring parts of the wire 10. A plurality of the overlapped parts comprise two or more fixed parts 11a and 11b where neighboring parts are fixed and unfixed parts 12 where neighboring parts are not fixed. Two or more fixed parts 11a and 11b are formed in the entire body of the rolled type filter member 1 with no need of heating treatment.
