Abstract:

To provide a roller bearing capable of suppressing excessive inflow of oil into the rolling bearing without increasing the number of components or the number of assembling processes, and to provide a camshaft apparatus in which the rolling bearing is used.

The roller bearing includes an inner ring 50, an outer ring 60, a plurality of rollers 70 and a cage 80. The cage 80 is formed of a synthetic resin material, and is integrally provide with first and second annular portions 81 and 82, respectively, separated from each other by a prescribed interval in the axial direction, and a plurality of post portions 84 that connect the first and second annular portions 81 and 82, and that demarcate pockets 83 for holding the plurality of rollers 70. The first annular portion 81 of the cage 80 is integrally formed with an annular sealing body 90 that opposes to the inner and outer rings 50, 60 so as to be close to or separated from them by extending over one end surface each of the rings and seals one end side of an annular space by approaching or coming into contact with one end surface each of the inner and outer rings 50, 60 by action of hydraulic pressure.
