To extend the life of a roller bearing by preventing biting and retention of abrasion powder from occurring in the part of inside projections 11 and outside projections 12 formed in a pocket 8 of a retainer 7 for preventing drop-out of a roller 6.
The inside projection 11 and outside projection 12 are provided at positions closer to crowning portions 6b on the outer peripheral surface of the roller 6 beyond the joints of a straight portion 6a with the crowing portions 6a on both sides thereof, whereby the gap between the inside projection 11 and outside projection 12 and the outer peripheral surface of the roller 6 is extended. Thus, lubricant is smoothly distributed without the lubricant on the outer surface of the roller 6 being not scraped by the inside projection 11 and outside projection 12, and dust such as metal abrasion powder mixed to the lubricant is prevented from being accumulated in the part of the inside projection 11 and outside projection 12.
