This roller conveyor system has a driving roller provided at the center of a conveyance zone, driven rollers provided on upstream side and downstream side of a conveyance direction of the driving roller, a transmission means such as a connecting belt to transmit rotation of the driving roller to the driven rollers, a motor for every conveyance zone for driving the driving roller, a sensor provided for every conveyance zone to detect the presence or absence of a conveying object, and a controller to provide controllers in adjacent front and rear conveyance zones with the detection signal of the sensor and to perform an operation control to drive/stop the motor. Even if the sensor does not detect the conveying object just after restarting conveyance of the conveying object by turning ON a power source, the controller performs a control to drive the driving roller in the adjacent downstream side conveyance zone, even if the sensor does not detect the conveying object.
