Abstract:
To provide a roller forging method for preventing facility cost from increasing in order to skip the next process to reduce production cost, and to obviate the need of a complicated shape by preventing occurrence of surface layer flow, in roller forging.
In this roller forging method for deforming a workpiece 4 by increasing the diameter thereof by bringing a roller 2 rotatable around a roller axis X orthogonal to a workpiece axis Y into contact with a workpiece surface layer surface 41a of the workpiece 4 being a cylindrical workpiece 4 rotating around the workpiece axis Y, deformation resistance of the workpiece surface layer surface 41a of the workpiece 4 is set larger than that of a workpiece bottom face 41b.
