Abstract:

To provide a roller hemming method capable of maintaining a contact state of the tip part of a flange to a workpiece, and a hemmed member.

In a roller hemming method for folding a flange 13 erected from a workpiece 11 by pressing a working roller 14 against the flange 13 and moving the working roller 14 relative to the flange 13, the flange is folded by: a first temporary bending step of bending a tip-side portion 32 of the flange 13 into a state that the tip-side portion is inclined; a second temporary bending step of bending a remaining, base-side portion of the flange 13 into a state that the base-side portion 33 is inclined; and a full bending step of bending the thus-bent flange 13 into a final shape so that the flange 13 gets into contact with a flange-proximity portion 25.
