To dry easily-drying laundry and hardly-drying laundry at the same steam temperature and transfer speed without generating wrinkles or folding lines and to prevent the marks of a guide belt from being left on the laundry as far as possible in a calendar type roller ironer for performing the finish drying and wrinkle stretching of washed linen products.
The roller ironer is provided with a temperature change means for changing the temperature of a plurality of heating rollers 1c, 1d and 1e in the post stage of rotary heating rollers provided in multiple stages. The roller ironer is further provided with a temperature adjusting means for adjusting the temperature of the heating roller 1a of the initial stage, and the temperature of the heating roller 1a of the initial stage is set lower than that of the heating roller of the post stage 1b so as to average the degree of dryness in the respective stages. The temperature of the heating roller of the post stage is lowered for the easily-drying laundry and the temperature of the heating rollers in a plurality of stages of the post stage is raised in processing the hardly-drying laundry such as two ply sheets.
