PURPOSE: To increase relative plastic deformability and production efficiency by setting a pressing guide at the upper stream where a band plate in a roller leveler approaching leveling rolls, preventing floatation of the band plate at biting, and increasing a biting limit.
CONSTITUTION: Pinch rolls 7 or a pressing guide being a guide plate are set in the upper stream where the band plate 6 in the roller leveler approaching leveling rolls 2 and 4. Possibility of floatation and bumps against the leveling roll 2 of the band plate 6 is reduced so that leveling operation is stopped rarely when the plate 6 runs between the rolls 2 and 4. Therefore, the biting limit is increased, so that relative plastic deformability and production efficiency are increased.
