PURPOSE: To obtain a roller open/close mechanism which can easily put a protective tube between rollers in a protective tube draw out mechanism and, at the same time, can prevent the slipping of rollers at the time of drawing out a protective tube.
CONSTITUTION: A tension spring 229 is constituted so that the tensile force of the spring 229 can be controlled by the rotating an open/close lever 226. When the flange section of a protective tube is held between roller members 22 and 22', the distance between the members 22 and 22' is made longer by decreasing the tensile force of the spring 229 by rotating the lever 226 counterclockwise so that the flange section can be easily put between the members 22 and 22'. At the time of drawing out the protective tube, in addition, the members 22 and 22' are brought nearer to each other so that a roller drive force can be surely transmitted to the members 22 and 22' by increasing the tensile force of the spring 229 by rotating the lever 226 clockwise.
