Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in a conventional device for machining microfine recesses that a device configuration is made complex when surface rigidity of a workpiece is partly different, leading to increased manufacturing costs of the device and prolonged machining time.SOLUTION: A microfine-recess machining roller 1 for forming microfine recesses Q on a workpiece W by being pressed and rolled against the workpiece W, includes: microfine protrusions 1A for forming microfine recesses at prescribed intervals along a circumferential direction; and shoulder parts 1B for regulating recess depth, on at least one side of an array of the microfine protrusions 1A. By applying constant pressing force, the roller can form the microfine recesses Q having a similar depth at any portion, and thereby achieve simplification of a device configuration, reduction of manufacturing costs, and shortening of machining time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
