Date Jun. 6, 1996The invention relates to a roller mill with a rotary grinding bowl, grinding rollers rolling thereon and retaining devices for influencing the grinding material movement between the grinding rollers. For increasing the throughput of a low-cost roller mill, low-cost, effective retaining devices are provided between the grinding rollers and are in each case constructed as a rotary damming wall formed from one or more damming rolls. The damming rolls have damming faces, which block the outwardly moved grinding material and retain same for further grinding. In a first embodiment a damming face is constructed on the inner end face of a damming roll. According to a further development radially projecting damming rings with additional damming faces are fitted.
