CONSTITUTION: A roller 1 for a paint roller comprises a plastic tube 2 and a brush member 3 thermally welded to the outside surface thereof. One end of the plastic tube 2 is closed and has an end surface part 21 made of a base stock of the same quality. A brush member 31 similar to the brushing member 3 is also thermally welded to the outside surface of this end surface part 21. A manufacturing method is executed by using the plastic tube provided with openings at both ends, in which the brush member 3 is preliminarily thermally welded to the outside surface thereof, heating the inner peripheral surface of one end part thereof, pressurizing the heated end part in the center axis direction thereof from the outer periphery of the tube and closing the opening end part thereof, thereby forming the end surface part 21. Thus, simultaneously, the brush member 31 is formed at the end surface part 21.
