Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a roller speed change gear incorporating an encoder for detecting the position of a low speed shaft, which can be simplified in structure and reduced to compact size by combining the speed change gear with the position detecting encoder. CONSTITUTION:Two planetary rollers 2 having difference in level are different in the radius and connected to each other coaxially. A sun roller 1 connected to a high-speed rotary shaft 6 is disposed on the radial inside of one planetary roller, and a fixing ring 4 is mounted on the outside thereof. A recording medium 18 which is a movable portion of a position detecting encoder is fixed on the peripheral surface of a wheel-like structure 8 connected to a ring roller 5 and a low-speed rotary shaft 9 mounted on the radial outside of the other planetary roller 2 having difference in level. An encoder fixing portion 19 is fixed on a outside structure 10. When the medium 18 is rotated, there is a change in quantity of light in the photocell portion of the fixing portion 19 including a light emitting portion and a photocell portion in the structure 10 to be converted to an electrical signal.
